Trying For A Tinnitus Relief

Some of the research conducted by scientists in the pursuit of finding a way to provide tinnitus relief has yielded small results that may seem inconsequential but that hold a promise for future research. In fact, it is because of such research studies that the latest methods of Teflon implants, neurotransmitters and radio surgery for operating on certain types of tinnitus have become possible. While not all cases of tinnitus are treatable with these techniques there is hope that in the near future these methods and a few more might just cure them all.
Earlier, research focused on the use of drugs such as diazepam and lidocaine to bring out changes in the internal functioning of the ear and block out tinnitus. These did show promising results but had to be abandoned because of the severe side effects associated with these drugs that required inhibitor drugs to keep the adverse effects in control. Hence, drug based approach was dropped in favour of the surgical and treatment methods.
